Seattle has become the center for nearly every occupation out there. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a trade, creative, medical, or a business of some sort. There are so many options, both large and small, for anyone to look into as they look at how to expand their career. It’s also home to various Fortune 500 companies such as Amazon, Costco, Microsoft, Starbucks, and Nintendo of America, Providence Health & Services all sit within the region. Although many may worry about the high cost of living in Seattle, there’s a 35% high median household income and no state income tax to worry about. With a booming job market, there’s an opportunity around every corner.

2. Lose Yourself In The Arts

Something Seattle has to offer that can make anyone fall in love is its amazing art scene. This means music, museums, film, and so much more. Places like the Museum of Pop Culture highlight some of the greatest bands and creations in our history. You can get lost in the magnificent Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibits and venture around the area to see museums of all sorts. You can find symphony and professional dancing performances throughout the year as well! As a creative or someone needing an escape from the everyday routine, there’s something for everyone here if you’re seeking inspiration.

3. Food! All The Food!

Need we say much more? If you want food from all over the world, Seattle has it all. It doesn’t matter what kind of food or diet you follow; there’s an arsenal of options here. You have options of all sorts and fresh options available at the famous Pike Place Market for seafood lovers. Seattle has also become one of the leading cities for vegan options. For a variety of cultural foods that you probably can’t find anywhere else, you will definitely find options close-by.

How could we mention food and not bring up what Seattle has become famous for after all – coffee! The Emerald City is home to Starbucks, Seattle’s Best Coffee, and Tullys! You have everything from independent shops to those big-name establishments to choose from.

4. Oh, The Weather

So, there’s some misconception about the Seattle weather. Seattle isn’t called The Emerald City for nothing. Know that it definitely rains here, but it doesn’t pour. The constant rain is why so many Douglas Fir trees grow in the area. These giant trees surround the region and creates an amazing scenery to get lost in. Seeing the trees change color over the season is definitely a sight to behold. The summers start in early July and last until September with sunny skies and 70-degree temperatures. You’ll find plenty of outdoor activities no matter if you’re an outdoor enthusiast or not.

In the winter, you’ll find overcast skies, and you’ll notice it gets dark a little before 5 P.M. This could be a shock at first, but it’s definitely a pleasure over time.

5. The Evolution of Transportation

Seattle is a big city, and those who come from big cities know that owning a car probably isn’t the best option. Seattle has a vast number of transportation options depending on where you want to go. You can use Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail, King County Metro Transit, Seattle Streetcars, or the Seattle Center Monorail. When you compare the cost you spend on a monthly vehicle payment to what you use for public transportation, there’s no going back.
